My Mother My Birth

When skies are dark and eyes are fierce

I look to Earth whose heart is rich

How it grows despite her constant itch

With things that burrow and scar and twist

I remember how she waits for forests and sands to cover the citadels of cut ancient wood and rough hewn stone

Where blood was spilt but carried no guilt

I cherish her lessons from every wound

I wait as she once waited

If Earth can heal as a mother post birth

and heal her herself from when she was torn

Then so can I

For I am her child

It was me that she birthed

My dear

My Darling

My beloved Mother Earth

So to myself shall I return

To grow new shoots from ash-ed soils once burned

Scarred and torn

Recovered

Reborn.
