The Wonder of Me

I sit upon the Mountain and look upon all the lands that lie before me

Mine

It is all mine

I see every tree

I see every inhabitant

But though I wear a crown and seat myself upon the throne

It is they who see me

I lock my eyes upon them

For though they wander in the valley’s

It is me they look to for guidance

It is me they see gilded and great

I am seated so that I shine as a beacon and as Lord over them

They look to me for absolutes

I am seen

As is my right to be seen

I am honoured and rightfully seated upon the throne of the mountain

For no others endured the climb

But I….

I sit with a scepter in my hand

and the crown upon my head.
